Unsigned Mogul Flies North For the Winter

Bgc_logo

In a time of year when some lucky folks and so many birds head south for the winter, Unsigned Mogul did the exact opposite. With a very strong reason for doing so - spending a day with the kids of the Boys And Girls Club Alaska to share music industry insight and to create music- the team packed their bags; which included Swedish military wool socks and thermal clothing, and headed to Anchorage Alaska.

"From the moment it was confirmed that we where headed north, we where really looking forward to getting up there - regardless of what the weather channel said", said Jay "Boogie" Mena CEO and Founder of Unsigned Mogul. "All we could think about was how much we can share with these young artists to better prepare them for this business of music."

In an afternoon that included industry discussions, music creation, the participation of Dj Beaumont, a live concert by Unsigned Mogul client Two Side Poleon, and a Q&A with dancer/choreographer/designer Elizabeth Sky (Rihana, Pitbull, Trey Songz, Lil John, Timbaland) the true stars where the kids at the Mt. View Boys & Girls Club.

"The kids at the club really stole the show - rightfully so, it was all about them anyway", added Jay "Boogie" Mena. "I was impressed by their talent, their focus, and openness to learning and sharing. We enjoyed every second."

With all of the cold weather concerns the Miami based Unsigned Mogul  team may have had initially, as it turns out that weekend was one of the warmest weekends Anchorage Alaska has had in December for a while. It seems like the Sunshine State sent a few degrees up there with the Unsigned Mogul crew.

"Maybe we did bring up the heat" said Jay "Boogie" Mena, "We will gladly do it again".

Miami Breakout Artist Two Side Poleon Heads to Anchorage Alaska

To say that Miami and Anchorage are polar opposites may be an understatement for some – particularly when we focus on the images entrenched in our minds about both places. Miami: sun beaches, girls in tiny bikini’s, South Beach and too many parties to go to. Anchorage: freezing cold, Sarah Palin, and freezing cold. Sure it is totally unfair, since if you look a little deeper you will find that Alaska is a pretty awesome place - with a lot more to share with the world than our buddy ‘ol pal Sarah.

For most Floridians, the image of icy mountains generates feelings that come a close second to staring down the barrel of a Smith & Wesson. However, Miami Rapper and Producer Two Side Poleon isn’t one to shy away from his fears, so it seems that it is thermal-gear-shopping time.

“Man I always thought I would work my way up to Alaska - I don’t know maybe like visit Chicago first, then Toronto – get my tolerance level for the cold up a bit” says Two Side Poleon, “But it’s cool, I’m just gonna bundle up. I think 7 layers should do it – it’s gonna be worth it”.

Why would he make the trip up to Anchorage in the middle of December? Two Side Poleon will be performing and creating music with the kids of the Boys & Girls Club Alaska as a featured artist in an event organized and produced by Marketing and Executive Support firm for unsigned artists UnsignedMogul.com.

“We are so excited about going out to Alaska”, says Founder and CEO of UnsignedMogul.com Jay “Boogie” Mena. “To be able to share what we do and what we experience as music industry professionals and artists, is really important. The cool part is that it is going to be very fun. There are going to be amazing performances, chats, and music collaboration. I’m looking forward to seeing and hearing what we can create with the young artists of Anchorage.”

The event will also feature Miami Choreographer/Dancer/Singer and Designer Elizabeth Sky, who has worked with some of the most popular artists of today such as Rhianna, Pitbull, Trey Songz, and Lil John to name a few. In addition the event will feature the participation as Alaska’s own sound-smith DJ Beaumont and Florida Attorney Rian Kinney.
The event will be taking place on December 10th, 2011 at the Boys & Girls Club at Mountain View Community Center, 315 N. Price Street Anchorage, AK from 1-4pm.
