Kathy Griffin Falls In Love With A Cuban

He's big, strong, makes a mean Cuban sandwich and doesn't drink beer or smoke. At over 10,000 pounds and painted hot party-happy red, the Cafe Con Leche LA food truck actually has many people in L.A. free falling in love with this Cuban eatery on wheels.

Emmy award-winning actress and stand up comedian Kathy Griffin and her non-Emmy award-wining new cuban-coffee-making food truck friend were caught on camera having a good ol' time. Featured in the August 30th edition of People Magazine, on page 122 to be exact, we get a peak at Ms. My Life On The D-list herself enjoying a happy morning on the popular food truck, which has amassed a great number of fans that trace the trucks' every move, making sure they know where the Cafe Con Leche truck will be parked next.

Cafe Con Leche Catering L.A. specializes in the art of Cuban Cuisine, offering an unlimited menu with event planning and production of any size. You would be mistaken, and pleasantly surprised if you assumed for a nano-second that this is just some ordinary sandwich truck. From the traditional “Cuban Sandwich” and “Media Noche”, to the specialty sandwiches like the “Manolo” and “Pan Con Pollo”, you not only put a whole lot of happy in your belly, but you'll find yourself catching on to the colorful cuban lingo buzzing in the kitchen and jumping out of the speakers.

Imports from Miami, these couple of cuban dudes took a long drive cross country to LA to show Angelinos what Miami tastes like. By popular demand they are there to stay. But now they are about to let the entire country in on what “coladitas” and “media noches” are all about and why Kathy Griffin was caught flirting with the big red cuban food machine. The Cafe Con Leche food truck will be featured in the The Great Food Truck Race Season Two on the Food Network if they are one of the finalists in the voting competition that begins on August 29th 2010 thru September 10th. Those who know these guys know very well they would make for great reality TV. The food is just awesome, but you know what? It's TV we're talking here. So it's pretty nice to know that they're crazy, they're loud, and they're CUBAN!

To say things have been a little...nuts in Miami this summer is quite an understatement. The expectations and prayers of an entire city were met the moment some tall black dude went on TV and uttered the words "....I've decided to take my talents to South Beach". You may have heard of him. That of course turned down the happy in a lot of places but, that's for their therapists to handle. In the city of Miami, Lebron James joining Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh thrown in for good measure has perked the city up more than just a little bit, and game one is yet to be played. No one really cares what Charles Barkley says, not here.

A city known for it's party atmosphere and it's ability to make celebrities let their hair down, it is not a stranger to good times. Add to that bikinis and Lamborghini's parading on Ocean Drive for no special reason, it's no wonder why so many out-of-towners deposit regularly in their piggy banks for that SOBE getaway. However for Miami hip-hop artist Two Side this is home sweet home.

Local entertainment should benefit greatly from the Lebron, Wade, and Bosh triple threat, that's to be expected. But this upswing isn't just related to the flashy nightclubs, which already draws the stars to come out and play, but also to the local music scene which should feel the effects of the attention the city will now command. For independent artists and musicians in the magic city, that's music to their ears. For those who haven't really thought about it, think about it. This could actually be a sweet deal. And a much needed one.

An indie scene that sometimes seems to only live in the shadows of
Miami, is alive and kicking, though sometimes kicking at the wall. There have been a few that have made it out and through the door in the name of the MIA; giving hope to those still looking for the key. The list of artists that went from the front line grind, to stardom includes names like Uncle Luke, Trick Daddy, Trina, Pitbull, Flo Rida, Rick Ross, T-pain, Plies and Cool and Dre to name a few. But, as great as that list is, it fails to give us the true feel for the amount of talent that's simmering all across the city and surrounding area. For those that are truly about their business this could be a great chapter in the local music scene. Who will take advantage of this? What new artists will emerge as the byproduct of this madness caused by it's friendly local basketball team? It's not the easiest thing to predict, however Miami rapper/producer Two Side, is doing his part to make sure, he's on that list.



Growing with the popularity of his You Tube channel thetwoshow1, and his recent performances, people are taking notice. His single, available on Itunes, "Moonlight and Stars" written and produced by Two Side ( listen on You Tube) is usually all it takes for a new fan to be born. This is something this Miami rapper doesn't take lightly."Man, I don't even know what to say about the love you know? It's nice to get that kind of response from people, you work really hard as an unsigned artist to get people's attention, so when finally you start getting a response you know, it makes it all so worth it. I got a long way to go, I mean, I want millions of people to know my work, but I'm working on it. So far so good"

With the momentum Two Side has and the fresh new energy in the Miami air thanks to Lebron and the gang, timing could not be better for this budding artist to come out blazing like Yosemite Sam. "It's crazy what Miami feels like right now, I'm lovin it man. My grind is always up, but this is definitely kickin' it up a gear."

Miami's own Two Side, is slowly catching the ears of hip-hop lovers in South Florida. I'm glad I'm one of the first to officially call it out; Two Side, is definitely one to keep an eye out for in Miami.

Miami Is Invaded By An Army Equipped With Guitars, Mics And Drumsticks

Miami's ports are on high alert as the entire city braces itself for the invasion. The masses prepare to hit the streets and come face to face with the hundreds of musicians arriving through land, air and sea to participate in the largest indie live music event of the year.

From December 10Th-12Th 2009, The Miami Music Festival, the nation's newest showcase and conference for independent artists, will be unleashing troops of indie musicians live on 25 stages in venues, tents, clubs and hotels across all of downtown Miami. All genres of music will be well represented by the more than 600 performances, including: Rock, Alternative, Pop, Latin, Urban, Caribbean and Jazz.


In addition to the non-stop performances, there will be a two-day conference from (December 11-12) at Riverfront Hall in The Miami Convention Center. The conference will feature keynote interviews, classes, and a number of interactive sessions. Attending and participating in the conference will be executives from record labels, music publishing, and touring as well as technology, media and marketing executives. Radio program directors, film, TV music supervisors, advertising executives and other buyers of music will also be present at the conference.

Not all of the indie army making their way to Downtown Miami did so through planes trains and automobiles. A few of these musical operatives live right here in our own back yards; patiently waiting for the call to engage.

One such artist is Miami singer-songwriter Nathalie Bretoneche who will be performing in all three days of The Miami Music Festival. Carrying a voice that beautifully marries contemporary r&b, with the depth and warmth of yesteryear's soul music, Nathalie manages to connect with a broad spectrum of listeners. Another artist hitting the stage but driving just a few blocks to the drop zone is up and coming hip-hop artist and producer Two-Side.
